As the hilly areas received seasons Ist snowfall last week plains in Kashmir Valley including the Summer Capital Srinagar recorded its first snowfall of this season today.

City registered a minimum temperature of 3.1 degree Celsius on Monday, which was up by three degrees from normal.
Rains brought the season’s first snow in the Kashmir capital were rains lashed the area for last two days.

Gurez, Drass, Gulmarg and other hilly areas were lashed by heavy snowfall as well.
According to MeT department, the present weather conditions are likely to continue during Wednesday and Thursday after which the western disturbance active over J&K will start weakening.

Most of the areas in the Valley and in its plains received overnight snow which has added more beauty to the ‘Paradise on Earth’ Kashmir.
Snowfall in Tourist areas including Sonamarg, Pahalgam and Gulmarg have bring happiness to the traders who are expected more Tourists this year.
It has also brightened the prospects of winter sports in Gulmarg ski resort, which is being visited by thousands of tourists every year.
