According to Saudi media, a Saudi girl realized that she is not a female, but rather a male, after spending 21 years of her life among women. The cause for this was a medical error that occurred during her birth and was only identified afterwards.
According to the Saudi TV channel “Al-Ekhbariya,” the person has been identified as Randa Shabeli, whose narrative began when she was born in a government hospital in Riyadh, after doctors at the time found irregularities in her genital area, therefore she was registered as female.
Randa, who is currently wanting to change her name to Raed, lived as a woman for 21 years before realizing that she was the result of a medical error and was born a young man rather than a girl.
Randa went to the doctor for a checkup after seeing that she had not developed any signs of female puberty like her colleagues.
The male genitalia were discovered inside the abdomen, the hospital informed Randa.
“At first, it seemed strange, as if they were lying to me,” Randa stated to Saudi media. “It was senseless to me, as if I had gone back to zero in my life.”
“I had no acquaintances, no family, and a new name and identification.”
Randa stated that she is scheduled to have surgery to remove her hidden genitals and other cosmetic procedures, and that a doctor advised her to come to Britain to do so, which she did, but that the paperwork were denied by responsible authorities.
The girl added that she had filed a complaint against the hospital that had caused the tragedy, but that despite the passing of months, the outcome of the inquiry had not been published.
Abdullah Shubaili, the victim’s father, acknowledged that he has been in contact with health affairs for more than six months since the investigation began, and that they have yet to locate the file or the doctors involved for the delivery.
“Doesn’t the hospital maintain the archive?” he pondered because “they declare they travelled or died.”
