Meanwhile locals alleged that the loot of green gold is rampant in kangan area of Ganderbal Forest division.
They claimed that the higher ups in forest department have failed to act against the erring officers involved in chopping down green trees.
The smugglers fell green trees, particularly during night hours, and sometimes even in the broad daylight, and ferry the timber for sale in the adjoining villages.
They added this is high time that Government of Jammu and Kashmir should take serious action against those who are being found in smuggling of green gold.
