Two gamblers arrested, stake money recovered, FIR registered

GANDERBAL: Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday have arrested Two gamblers in the district.
In a statement issued to Valley Online that Acting swiftly upon a specific information regarding gambling in the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora, Police team led by I/C PP Shadipora Sub Inspector Gulzar Ahmad under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Ganderbal raided the place of gambling at Forest Compartment No.02 Lathi Authkhuroo, Shadipora and arrested two persons on spot.
The accused persons were identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Nabi Bhat R/O Wanipora, Saloora Ganderbal and Ghulam Hassan Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/O Reshipora, Ganderbal. Stake money of Rs. 2800/- and a deck of playing cards were also recovered from them.
He said a Case FIR No. 143/2021, U/S 13 Gambling Act registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation taken up.
Community members are requested to extend cooperation to the Police and come forward with such information so that such social crimes are effectively curbed.
