Train services suspended on Srinagar-Banihal track
SRINAGAR: Authorities on Saturday suspended train services in south Kashmir for the second day due to security reasons as two separate gunfights raged in the region.
“However, train service was resumed on Srinagar-Badgam-Baramulla track in north Kashmir after remaining suspended on Friday,” official sources said.
The official said that the police morning directed that train service will remain suspended on Saturday in south Kashmir, where two encounters between militants and forces are going on in Pulwama and Anantnag.
“No train will chug on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region,” they said.
