Snow, Rains Triggers Fresh Cold Wave
SRINAGAR: Kashmir’s upper reaches witnessed a fresh snowfall between Gulmarg and Zoji a the plains are experiencing raining amid the intense cold. Authorities have already closed the Srinagar Jammu highway though the air connectivity is operational.
Gulmarg ad Sonamarg is still experiencing the snowfall, reports reaching here said. Almost all the ranges in the Harmukh range have also gone white overnight as the fresh snowfall has enveloped the peaks.
The snowfall has got Gulmarg into a fresh activity as the ski lovers were seen busy on the slopes. The winter sports spot concluded its Khelo India winter sports event on yesterday Held at the peak of the Coronavirus crisis, the event was participated by around 1000 players from various states of India. A central minister and various BJP leaders and local administration spent many days in Gulmarg.
Pahalgam was lashed by rains for the whole day. Upper reaches in the area also witnessed a snowfall.
In Srinagar, the Weatherman’s office said the Western Disturbances have impacted the valley. They expect more rains will lash the belt in net 24 hours and Friday will pass mostly as the wet day.
Kashmir remained pleasant for most of the last week. Even the night temperatures improved. This was despite the fact that the improved weather conditions had led authorities to believe that they will be able to restore the road connectivity between Kashmir and Ladakh at the earliest.
The weatherman said that the situation will start improving tonight.
