Protests held in Kashmir against Trump decision
SRINAGAR: Hundreds of protestors rallied in the main market of central Kashmir’s Budgam on Friday to voice their anger over a controversial decision by United States President Donald Trump to reverse a longstanding policy to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Hundreds of people, led by khateeb Imanbada Budgam thronged the main town, to demand that Trump retract the decision.
The crowd chanted, “Long Live Palestine! Long Live Islam”, as they marched down one of the district’s busiest roads, bringing traffic to a standstill.
Banners with the words, “Down with Trump” and “Jerusalem an eternal capital of Palestine” protestors marched through main town and condemned the Trumps decision.
Same kind of protests were held in Srinagar at many places like Maisuma and Rainawari areas. Reports said that at almost every Masjid, religious scholars and Imams strongly condemned the US decision.
