Polling staffer dead, several others injured in road accident in south Kashmir
SRINAGAR: A poll official, Hilal Ahmad Khan died in Kokernag, Anantnag today after the bus he was travelling in turned tirtle near Zalangam village.
Reports said that a driver carrying poll staffers from Kokernag to Anantnag lost his control over the vehicle and fell into a gorge at Zalangam area of Kokernag, resulting in injuries to eight people.
The injured men were soon rushed to district hospital Anantnag, where doctors declared one of the injured men who had sustained serious injuries, dead. The deceased man has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Khan of Pulwama. Reports added that the other injured men are being treated at the hospital.
They said that at least sixteen people had sustained injuries who were soon rushed to Sub-District-Hospital Zalangam, where from two seriously injured men were shifted to district hospital Anantnag.
However, one of the injured men succumbed to injuries and another is under treatment.
