PM arrives on day-long visit to J&K’s Leh
SRINAGAR:Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Leh town of Ladakh region on Saturday beginning his day-long visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
He was received at the Leh Airport by Governor NN Vohra, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in addition to senior civil and military officials.
Thousands of people from different parts of Ladakh, in traditional dresses, are at venue to listen to the address of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister inaugurated the concluding event of 100th birth anniversary of Kushok Bakula, the architect of modern Ladakh, by lighting the lamp amid chants of religious hymns.
The Prime Minister will unveil a plaque to mark the commencement of work on the Zojila Tunnel, India’s longest road tunnel and Asia’s longest bi-directional tunnel.(IANS)
