Only Covid-19 protocols for inter UT movement being followed
GANDERBAL: District Police Ganderbal of central Kashmir, on Wednesday refuted the reports about the closure of Srinagar-Kargil National Highway for vehicular movement and said that only the COVID-19 protocols, put forth by the government are being followed. There is no restriction on vehicular traffic on the highway, said Senior Superintendent of police (SSP) Ganderbal Mohammad Kahlil Poswal.
In his tweet, SSP Ganderbal said that “Srinagar-Kargil NHW is open for vehicular movement. Only Covid-19 protocol for Inter – UT movement is essentially required to be adopted.”
Pertinently, earlier there were reports doing rounds on Social Networking sites about the closure of Srinagar-Kargil National highway, in view of tensions mounted after the violent face-off between Indian and Chinese armies, in Galwan valley of Ladakh UT, in which at least 20 Indian Soldiers, including a commanding officer were killed.
