Mentally-challenged boy made police officer in Uttar Pradesh
SRINAGAR: A mentally-challenged boy was made Station House Officer (SHO) for an hour in Uttar Pradesh, said a media report today.
Reports said that Uttar Pradesh Police has garnered a lot of appreciation for the initiative.
The police, under the community policing initiative, according to the report made the boy named Sahir Singh the SHO of Lucknow’s PGI Police station.
An elated Singh said that he always wanted to be a police inspector and the city police at the request of his parents fulfilled his wish, said the report.
“On the request of his parents, we made him the SHO for an hour. He was very happy with it,” SSP Deepak Kumar was quoted as having said.
