Kashmir: 9042 persons injured in 2016-17, 15 blinded, 39 blinded partially
JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday said that 9042 persons were injured in the Kashmir valley in clashes between government forces and protesters from July 2016 till Feb 2017.
Government said in a written reply to a question in legislative assembly that 9042 persons were injured with 368 bullet injuries and 6221 pellet injuries.
According to the government data 4 persons were injured with Pava shells, 2449 persons were injured with other reasons while as 2449 persons had eye injuries.
“15 persons were permanently blinded and 39 persons were partially blinded,” it added.
