J&K BJP state secretary Anil Parihar, brother gunned down by unidentified gunmen in Kishtwar
JAMMU: In a shocking development, the state secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu and Kashmir, Anil Parihar, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Thursday. Reports said Parihar’s brother Ajeet Kumar Parihar was also killed in the attack in Kishtwar. It was not confirmed whether terrorists carried out the killings.
Police are at the spot of the incident and investigations are underway. Reports said Section 144 has been imposed in the Kishtwar town.
As per reports, the attack took place outside Parihars’ residence. Ajeet Parihar was a SFC employee and he was returning home with Anil after closing their stationary shop.
“BJP J&K secretary Anil Parihar and his brother were shot by terrorists in Kishtwar around 8 pm today. They were taken to a hospital immediately where they succumbed to injuries,” BJP state president Ravinder Raina was quoted as saying by ANI.
Anil Parihar had contested the 2008 Assembly Elections on the ticket of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party from Kishtwar constituency.
