Grenade recovered near encounter site after a week, destroyed

BARAMULLAH: Forces on Tuesday destroyed a live grenade in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after more than a week of a gunfight in the area.
Reports said that local residents of Kreeri found a live grenade in a Walnut orchard on Tuesday afternoon and informed police.
An official said soon after a joint team of 29 RR, Police rushed to the spot along with bomb disposal squad and destroyed the grenade.
A top police officer confirmed and said that that today afternoon a bomb was recovered from the site and soon after a team destroyed it.
Three militants, 2 soldiers, 2 CRPF men, SPO were killed in 32-hour long gunfight which took place on August 17 this year.
