Four CRPF troopers injured in Bijbehara grenade attack
SRINAGAR: Four CRPF troopers have been injured in a a militant attack in south Kashmir’s Bijbehara town this afternoon.
Unknown militants around 4:00 pm appeared at Goriwan locality of Bijbehara town and lobbed a grenade at a CRPF patrol party, witnesses told. The grenade, wintesses said exploded with a bang causing injuries to at least five troopers.
All the troopers have been shifted to Bijbehara hospital for treatment.
Witnesses said that soon after the attack, CRPF men fired scores of shots in air causing panic among the passerby. The shopkeepers also pulled down their shutters and ran towards safer places.
Meanwhile, CRPF and police have cordoned off the area and started search operation to nab the attackers.
