Forest Department retrieved 40 Kanals Of Forest Land In Kangan
GANDERBAL: Jammu and Kashmir’s Forest Department has retrieved more than 40 kanals of forest land from land grabbers as part of an anti-encroachment drive in Ganderbal district on Friday.
Reports said that the Department retrieved over 40 kanals of forest land during an anti-encroachment drive in Sindh Range of Compartment No 1, 3 In Najwan area of Kangan in central Kashmirs Ganderbal district.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sindh Range Owais Farooq said that we constituted a team including ACF sindh Danish Khan, RO Rameez Raja, RO Rasheed Laherwal and other field Staff carried out the drive and demolished illegal fencing to remove encroachments from forest land in the area.
He added that it succeeded in retrieving 40 kanal of forests land from the possession of encroacher’s and team also demolished illegal fencing put up by the encroacher’s from forest land in the area.
DFO directed it’s field staff to ensure strict vigil in the area to prevent any further encroachment.
DFO Sindh has appealed to the people to come forward and help in doing away this menace of forest encroachments.
