Forces lay siege to Pulwama village, clashes erupt
SRINAGAR: Clashes erupted between protesters and the government forces during a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Kareemabad village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
An official said that forces launched a CASO in the village early today after inputs about the presence of militants.
An eye witness said that locals took to streets and pelted the forces with stones to disrupt the anti-militant operation.
The forces responded by lobbing teargas shells, triggering further clashes.
House-to-house searches were going on in the area when last reports came.
