DC asks private school managements to adhere Hon’ble Supreme Court Directions
GANDERBAL: District development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla has issued directions to the ARTO and other concerned private transport companies to streamline the shortage of passenger transport (Mini-Buses) system in the District especially in Ganderbal town jurisdiction as most of the private educational institutions have hired number of mini-buses to ferry the students from the school in sheer violation of Hon’ble Supreme Court guidelines.
The DDC directed the school managements to ensure provision of their own school buses instead of hiring public transports within a period of one month failing which they are supposed to face action as per law.
The DDC also directed school managements to strictly follow the directions of Hon’ble supreme court wherein school managements have been asked to ensure that every bus used for ferrying school children’s should have first aid box, the windows of buses must be fitted with horizontal grills.
Besides, there must be fire extinguisher in the bus and school name, telephone number, “school bus” must be written on the bus, besides yellow color of the school bus.
