Culprits Deserve Death: Khalida Shah over court verdict in Kathua case
SRINAGAR: Awami National Conference (ANC) president Begum Khalida Shah Tuesday hailed the verdict of the judiciary in Asifa rape and murder case.
Terming it as a historic decision of the court at Pathankot, she in a statement issued to KNS said the state however should file an appeal against the verdict as to the quantum of the punishment. “The culprits deserve death,” she said.
The ANC chief also congratulated the state crime branch team for the impeccable investigations & a good piece of policing work exhibited by IG Mujtaba, SSP Jala, SP Naveed, DSP Shiveta and team while conducting the investigation under surcharged atmosphere and against all odds.
Begum Khalida Shah also congratulated the public prosecutors, Adv Talib Hussain and team, Adv Dipika Rajawat, Adv Muneeb Farooqi and all others associated for their humongous contribution in bringing the culprits to justice. The state of J&K salutes you all for your tireless efforts, she said.
The ANC president appealed to all political, social & religious organizations to unitedly and in one voice ask for severe action to be taken against all those who tried to subvert justice & shield the perpetrators of this heinous crime, be it the politician, the bureaucrat or the minister. A severe exemplary punishment it required to be announced on them, she said.
