CASO ends amid massive clashes in Hajin, civilian injured
SRINAGAR: The militants Monday managed to flee the cordon and search operation (CASO) in north Kashmir’s Hajin area, sources said.
They said that the militants managed to escape the cordon in Bon Mohalla, Hajin, after the initial exchange of gunfire with forces which lasted for at least 10 minutes as the CASO was being tightened around a specific location.
Yielding nothing, the cordon was lifted after five hours, amid massive clashes between protesting youth and government forces, and a civilian was injured in clashes.
As reported earlier, forces had cordoned off a particular area in Hajin early today after input abut the presence of militants.
