Bollywood in Kashmir, Shooting Biopic of Malala Yousufzia ‘Gul Makia’

GANDERBAL: Shooting of Biopic on Malala Yousafzai ‘Gul Makia’ is going at Picturesque places in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir.
The cast and crew were scheduled to shoot in Kashmir in 2016 but due to unrest in Kashmir, shooting was postponed.
So for Film has been shoot at Sonamarg, Gagangeeer, Kullan, Hariganwan, Yachama, and Kangan area of District Ganderbal.
Currently shooting is going on Near snow clad mountains of Gagangeer.
Renowned director Amjad Khan who is directing the film said, “Kashmir is best location for the film. Kashmir resembles a lot with Swat Valley. In Kashmir we are shooting journey of Malala in Swat Valley, So for shooting here has been very smooth. “
Reem Shaikh a popular TV actress is playing Malala in the movie. She has been previously seen in TV operas like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha. She was also seen in the Amitabh Bachchan-Farhan Akhtar-starrer Wazir.
“This is my second visit to Kashmir, I am enjoying every movement here. I have been here for fifteen days. Kashmir is very safe and people here are very supportive and hospitable. Locations here are awesome. The locations in Kashmir Will add extra color to the film” Reem Shaikh said.
The director have casted some actors and actresses from Kashmir also’s in the movie.
Almost 200 cast and crew members are camping in Kashmir for the shooting and they are likely to be here for more days.
The film is jointly produced by Vijay Jaju, Shakti Bhatnagar, Sanjay Singhla.
Malala’s biopic will demonstrate distinctive shades and the unforgiving reality and the extreme circumstances which she experienced while raising her voice against the girl education.
