Awareness Programme on precautionary measures for CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) held at DPL Ganderbal
GANDERBAL: Under the supervision of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Poswal-JKPS,Ganderbal Police today held awareness session on the precautionary measures required to be taken to protect ourselves from the infection of CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) at DPL Ganderbal in which the Officers and Jawans of District Police Ganderbal and CAPF were briefed by the experts of health department Ganderbal on precautionary measures required for protection from CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19).
Dr. Ali Mohd informed the Officers /officials not to panic and just follow some precautionary measures to protect themselves and their families from COVID-19.
The medical expert said that symptoms of Corona Virus are similar to any other upper respiratory infection including running nose, coughing, sore throat and sometimes a fever may rise within 2 days as early of 14 days followed by a trend history of the infected or his contact with any person who has a trend history.
They said that best precautionary measures for CORONA VIRUS is to wash your hands before, during and after preparing food, before eating, after toilet use, when hands are visibly dirty, after handling animals and animals wastage, after handshakes, after coughing and sneezing.
It was deliberated that while coughing and sneezing, all persons should cover the face with fixed elbow or tissue and un-necessary touching of face by hand should be avoided. Also suggested the following:
DO’s and DONT’s during the briefing:
01. Do not panic.
02. Avoid close contact with any one with cold or flu like symptoms.
03. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with un-washed hands.
04. Avoid direct contact with body fluids, particularly oral and respiratory secretion and stool.
05. Avoid un- protected contact with line farm or wild animal.
06. Avoid unnecessary visits to crowded places.
Sh. Khalil Poswal, SSP Ganderbal briefed officials of especially CAPF to remain more vigilant as there is frequent change over of troops as well as they stay in dormitory. Regular medical check up of suspected cases with their immediate isolation from rest of troops be ensured.
Subsequent to it Ganderbal Police has distributed awareness pamphlets containing DO’s and Don’t’s regarding epidemic of Corona Virus (Covid-19) at the naka points to the commuters and general public.
