Health employees protest against assault of their colleague by BMO Bandipora

BANDIPORA: Employees of health department Bandipora staged protest in Bandipora against Block Medical Officer for assaulting a Pharmacist Iqbal Hameed Bhat.
Health employees on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration against the assault on Pharmacist by a Block Medical Officer.
The protesting employees raised slogans against the BMO who had assaulted Pharmacist Iqbal Hameed Bhat, in his office.
Iqbal Hamid, a pharmacists alleged was assaulted by BMO, told that the BMO threw a stool towards him for coming late to the office.
“When I entered the office chamber of the BMO, he asked me why I can late and in the fit of rage he tree a stool towards me, resulting in injuries to my head. This is not the way to treat an employee for coming late to office. He could have initiated official action against me and not assaulted me, ” he said.
Protesters urged Chief Medical Officer Bandipora to intervene in the matter and take strong action against the BMO.
They said that, “If action against the BMO is not taken, the whole block will go on strike from tomorrow onwards”.
The employees were protesting in the premises of Bandipora hospital.
Block Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Ashfaq denies the allegations levelled aginst him.
Meanwhile Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Tajamul assured inquiry into the matter.
