Stray dogs on prowl in Bandipora, 4 among 20 dog bite critically injured

BANDIPORA: Amid COVID-19 pandemic fresh Panic gripped several Bandipora villages as stray dogs did strike different areas, biting twenty persons including Men, women and children of all ages whosoever came in their way.
Among the bitten, four are reported to be critical.
Locals told, that a flock of stray dogs appeared in village Mantrigam, Banakoot, Badibate, and Tanghaat, unleashing a reign of terror among the masses and injuring at least two dozen people there. However all the injured were rushed to District hospital Bandipora.
Health Officials at DH Bandipora told that they received twenty injured people among them four were critical and were referred to Srinagar hospitals for Specialised treatment.
They said that 20 people were given Anti-Rabies Vaccines (ARBs) and 16 were managed locally.
Meanwhile, People have complained that these stray dogs are roaming freely in different parts of the district and have made lives miserable.
They complained that these stray dogs are being transported from Different Municipal areas nocturnally and laid into the villages endangering lives of common masses of the area.
Despite repeated requests to District administration their plight have fallen on deaf ears, they added.
