GANDERBAL: An under construction building of Govt Degree College has developed cracks in the concrete roof and walls here in kangan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District.
The college currently runs in the ITI building at Margund.
Reliable sources confirmed Valley Online that in year 2015 a new building for college was allotted in which Department of R&B is Working to construct the building.
“This newly constructed building has developed major cracks in walls because of the substandard material used during construction” a local youth told Valley Online on conditions of anonymity while pointing to the cracked walls.
“Structural cracks at number of places especially in Ground floor in this newly constructed building is eye opening to everyone and is not safe for innocent students” he added.
Walls have developed cracks which are found mostly at their centers.
Plaster is found crumbling at a number of places of this building which hasn’t been used by students.
The POP/Putty provided in the roof ceiling was found coming out at a number of places in building.
Despite repeated attempts to contact SE R&B Ganderbal for comments remains unfruitful.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Dr. Piyush told Valley Online that he will take up this matter with concerned department.
