2 killed, 4 injured in IED blast in J&K’s Anantnag
SRINAGAR: Two people have been killed and four injured in an improvised explosive device(IED) blast in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The explosion took place in Hakoora Bodasgam of Anantnag district in south Kashmir.
A government program called ‘Back to Village’ was going on in the panchayat when the explosion took place.
The injured were immediately rushed to the Ananthnag district hospital.
Another explosion took place in the market near Sir Syed gate of Kashmir University in the Hazratbal area this afternoon, the official said.
Three persons were injured in the explosion. All are stated to be stable, he said.
The official said the explosion was not caused by a grenade as suspected earlier. A preliminary investigation suggests that it was a low-intensity blast.
